Learning Objectives

  • To be able to identify the indications for arterial pressure monitoring and the risks
  • Describe sites and different methods of arterial cannulation
  • Know the correct procedure for setting up a transducer set
  • Understand how to maintain an arterial line including levelling and zeroing
  • Understand a correct arterial waveform and how to correct issues with it
