The Centre for Global Surgery was co-founded in 2011 by two surgeons at the McGill University Health Center who recognized the global burden of acute surgical disease. Their goal is to reduce injury and acute surgical disease-related morbidity and mortality in resource limited settings through local capacity building involving a multidisciplinary approach.

Course Description

Trauma and disaster preparedness are essential in the care of the injured patient and long-term impact on healthcare system. The Trauma and Disaster Team Response© (TDTR©) course was designed by the Centre for Global Surgery (CGS) at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in Montreal, Canada. The course conveys appropriate management of trauma including disaster response and emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach in managing trauma patients. The course is addressed to a wide range of healthcare professionals including surgeons, nurses, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, and other allied health professionals. This Open Program provides you with access to didactic lectures.
